A lead’s value now comes from the experts’ bids

Customers rarely know what a piece of work will cost, so a lead’s value no longer leans on their guess. The experts who price the work now set the figure.

How a lead is valued

  • Before anyone bids, a lead reads the indicative budget from its approved requirements, or £0 when the customer gave none. “Not yet priced” is gone: every lead shows an amount.
  • From the first bid, the Service Pipeline Value is the average of the live bids, platform fee included, and it moves as each new bid arrives. A bid that is withdrawn or turned down drops out.
  • Once the customer accepts a quote, the lead reads Committed Service Revenue: the quote’s total.

The same figure shows everywhere a lead’s value appears: on its Live Service Pipeline card, the column total and the Service Pipeline Value summary, in the Customer Service Journey header, in the Command Centre’s funnel and on a customer’s page.

Admins, SDMs, CSMs and vendors see the bid average. Customers and experts see the budget, or £0, until a quote is accepted, so nobody bidding can work out a rival’s price from the figure.

Revenue Entering Service is unchanged: it still counts each lead’s budget at the moment its requirements were approved, before any expert bid.

The budget is optional

A customer can now approve their requirements without an indicative budget. The assistant asks for one once and moves on if they do not know. The requirements card labels the row “Indicative budget (optional)”, and an empty budget no longer holds the document back.
