Review each bid from its own row on the lead workspace

The proposals section on a lead’s workspace used to be read-only. Answering a bid meant reaching for a “Review bids” action in the side rail, which asked for a decision without ever saying which bid it meant — and refused outright whenever more than one bid was waiting, which is the normal case for a lead worth bidding on.

The decision now sits on the bid it is about. Every proposal on the workspace carries:

• Open — the full proposal, for anyone who can see the bid.
• Accept and Reject — for the service delivery manager, on a bid still waiting on a decision. Rejecting asks for the remarks the expert is sent.
• Edit — for the expert who wrote the bid, while it is still open to change.

With several bids in, each row answers for itself, so choosing between them is a matter of reading them side by side and picking one.

Accepting a bid now closes the pool

Accepting picks the expert, sends that bid’s quote to the customer and moves the lead to awaiting confirmation, as before. It now also rejects every other bid still waiting on the lead, and tells those experts the work was awarded elsewhere. Previously the losing bids stayed open indefinitely and their experts heard nothing.

Finding the bids

When bids are waiting on your decision, the workspace header points to them: its next best action reads Review the bids and takes you straight to the proposals section. Once every bid has been answered, it stops asking.
