Switching roles now changes what you can do

Some people hold more than one role in the same workspace — a customer success manager who is also an expert, for instance. Until now, switching between them changed the screens you saw, but what you were allowed to do could still be decided by the other role.

That is fixed. Whichever role you are working in decides your permissions, everywhere: the actions on a lead, the pages you can open, the bids and proposals you can act on, and the assistant that answers you. Switch role, and your access follows.

If you hold a single role, nothing about your access has changed.

For administrators

A permission you grant to someone’s expert profile now applies when they are working as an expert, and not when they are working as a customer success manager. Each of a person’s roles carries its own effective permissions, so a grant does what the role templates and per-user overrides say it does — and you can reason about it one role at a time.
