Every card on your project overview now opens to the records behind it

Your overview told you how much was done, when you go live and what you had paid. It did not tell you which outcomes made it 45%, what moved your date, or which bills that payment total was the sum of.

Now every card opens. Six of them lead to a page about that one figure, and each page answers the same four questions:

• What it is — the figure, with the readings that make it up beside it.
• How it is worked out — what counts towards it, what is left out, and how to read it.
• What is behind it — every record, listed. The list adds up to exactly the figure above it, and says so. You can search it, narrow it by state, and sort any column.
• What moved it — where the figure stood at the start of the period you are looking at, everything that entered and left it since, and where it stands now. Every movement is named individually; nothing is collapsed into an “other” line.

The six are how much is done, your go live date, the things waiting on you, what is holding the project up, what you have paid, and the changes agreed since the project started. The four cards that state no figure — where your project stands, your team, how your experience has been, and the latest update — open straight to the thing they are a preview of.

Three smaller things came with it:

• The period is yours to choose. One control in the header sets it, and it carries through to whichever page you open. The header also states the moment everything on the screen was read at, so no two figures can claim different ones.
• Quoted, billed and paid are kept apart. They are three different numbers and are named separately rather than blurred into one idea of value.
• The wording is yours. Every state on every page is written the way your overview writes it. An outcome that is held up now says so, rather than being reported as one nobody has started.

Nothing on these pages changes anything. To acknowledge an outcome or settle a bill, a row hands you over to the project or the bill itself, where you already do it.
