Changing someone’s role no longer disturbs the other roles they hold
Some people hold more than one role in the same organisation — an expert who is also a customer, a CSM who also delivers as an expert. Each of those roles is kept separately, so that what someone can see and do follows the role they are currently working in.
When a person’s main role changed, the update did not say which of their roles it was meant to change, and one of the others could be altered instead. If the person already held the role they were being given, the change failed outright — after it had already been applied in the sign-in system, so the two sides disagreed until someone noticed.
Both are fixed.
- Admins — changing a person’s primary role now changes that role and nothing else. If they already hold the role you are giving them, the change completes and their permissions follow the role they already had, instead of returning an error.
- Anyone with more than one role — the role you are working in is corrected when it drifts, and your other roles are left exactly as they were.
- Anyone with a single role — nothing changes for you.
No existing role assignment was rewritten by this. If someone’s roles look wrong today, an admin can set the primary role again from the user’s page and it will now land where it should.
