Navigation on a phone

On a narrow screen the sidebar slides in over the page rather than sitting beside it — but the button that opened it was inside the sidebar, so on a phone there was no way to get to it. Whatever page you landed on was the only page you could reach.

There is now a button at the top of every page. Tap it and the sidebar slides in with your full set of sections, your notifications, and your account — the same entries you see on a laptop, in the same order.

It gets out of the way. Choosing a destination closes the sidebar behind you, so you arrive on the page rather than on top of it.

Nothing changes on a laptop or a tablet: the sidebar stays where it is, and the button inside it still collapses it to an icon rail.
